Major study into long-term health effects of COVID-19 launched in the UK

We are excited to announce that the Post-Hospitalisation COVID-19 Study (PHOSP-COVID) has launched recently, which is supported by NIHR Biomedical Research Centres. The Birmingham BRC’s Theme Lead for Inflammatory Sarcopenia, Professor Janet Lord, said:

The PHOSP-COVID study will allow researchers to assess the long term effects of COVID-19, looking at several aspects of physical and mental health. Importantly this could lead to future clinical trials to test new treatment to improve the health in survivors of COVID-19.
