BRC Associates amongst University Promotions
Several NIHR Birmingham BRC researchers have received academic promotions in the latest round of University of Birmingham Promotions, under the new Birmingham Academic Career Framework. These promotions are testament to the hard work of the academics across the College of Medical and Dental Sciences, including in BRC projects. We are delighted to congratulate our BRC members below on their well-deserved recognition.
Dr Simon Afford
Dr Afford has been promoted to Professor of Liver Immunopathology and is a BRC-associated academic in the Inflammatory Gastroenterology theme.
Dr Adam Croft
Dr Croft has been promoted to Professor in Translational Rheumatology and is a BRC-associated academic in the Inflammatory Arthritis theme and member of the University’s Rheumatology Research Group (RRG).
Dr Helen McGettrick
Dr McGettrick has been promoted to Reader in Inflammation and Vascular Biology and is a BRC-associated academic in the Inflammatory Arthritis theme and also a member of the RRG.
Dr Chris Weston
Dr Weston has been promoted to Senior Lecturer and is a BRC-associated academic in the Inflammatory Gastroenterology theme.
Congratulations are also due for Professor Melanie Calvert and Professor George Gkoutos, both of whom secured Professorial rebanding.
